Backroads the Locals Ride

Rochford Road

High country backroad

Deep into the high country, off the beaten path.

Rochford Road takes you deep into the high country of the Black Hills, through open meadows and tall pines to the tiny old mining town of Rochford.

Rochford was a gold camp in the 1870s, and today it is a quiet spot with just a few buildings, including the well-known Moonshine Gulch Saloon.

It is off the beaten path, and that is exactly why we love it. Keep an eye out for deer and elk along the way.

One stop on a bigger ride. Every tour covers several of these roads, not just one. Your Lead Rider links them together into a full day of riding, picking the best route for the weather, road conditions, and the group.
