The Rimrock Highway west of Rapid City follows Rapid Creek past the little community of Johnson Siding, with rock walls and forest on both sides.
Farther along, the road heads toward Pactola Lake, the largest lake in the Black Hills, with clear water surrounded by pine-covered hills.
It is a beautiful way into the heart of the hills and a great connector to some of our favorite routes.
One stop on a bigger ride. Every tour covers several of these roads, not just one. Your Lead Rider links them together into a full day of riding, picking the best route for the weather, road conditions, and the group.
